Mayor Bloomberg Signs Legislation Amending The Plumbing Code - (3/15/2010)

Intro 874-A is a bill that, simply stated, requires that whenever piping of methane and/or radon gas is installed, it must be performed by licensed master plumbers.  The bill also mandates the creation and approval of mechanical joint standards by the D.O.B. Commissioner.  The law amends the Plumbing Code to require that the D.O.B. develop standards that manufacturers must meet in order to use mechanical joining methods in New York City.
