Local 1 Apprentice wins 2013 U.A. New York State Apprentice Contest - (6/11/2013)

The 2013 U.A. New York State Apprentice Contest was held from Wednesday May 15 thru Friday May 17. There were different competitions for Plumbing, Pipefitting, Welding and HVACR. It was an extensive contest. The Plumbing Competition included a practical Plumbing Project, a Rigging Project, a Welding Project and a Written Examination, all which took several days to complete. There were Plumber Apprentices from 6 New York State Locals in the Plumbing Competition. We are happy to announce that our Local 1 Competitor, 10th grade apprentice Paul Giangrande, was the winner of the U.A. New York State Apprentice Contest. Apprentice Giangrande will go on to compete in the U.A. District 1 (Northeast) Apprentice Contest in Connecticut in June of 2013.
